Its that time of year when the streets are covered with bunting and Ashbourne Festival is about to begin.
We’ve already booked ourselves into an evening with Tim Brooke Taylor and another with Patricia Routledge, and after the success of Peakland Players radio version of Rebecca last year, we are now booked to see All About Eve. An evening of gin tasting and food sounds interesting, as do talks by a shepherd, a ‘green chemist’ and mountaineer.
The fortnight long festival commences with Toyah Wilcox on Friday 16th June followed by a Street Fest on Saturday of all sorts of comedians, circus performers, acrobatics and a geodesic dome of chimes for all to play.
Nether Farm Barns and Roundhouses are only a mile from the action so no need for driving and the aggravation of parking, just an easy walk into town. Lunch in Ashbourne and a day wondering round the street fest or an evening of culture followed by fish and chips from the Market Place. What could be better…..
Just booked the Gin tasting as I write this.
